Yeah, my goose bumps are still tingling and the L88 hasn't run since yesterday. Open headers, of course.
Now, back to this oil cap. The seller claims the S is stamped on it. The S on my original is dead center and easy to see. His have none. And that kind of money for an oil cap? I've got a hemi, half million bucks! On sale today only.
Oh, here's my original;

OK, enough keeping quite. That thing he's selling is a cheap knock-off.
I sent him email with this link. Hope that's OK. And I called BS!

i just noticed that he had an opening bid of 500.00 and that it ran up from there.he just might have his buddies running up the bids. i don't know. he does have a 100% rating from ebay with hundreds of transactions so he seems reputable. i've seen these oil caps go for 250 tops but not this high.needs the valvecovers attached to it for this price

Dear 70copo454,

Not at all. But your product is a bogus cheap knockoff. I bought my car new, a 69 L78 Camaro and have the original oil cap. Wanna see? It's on line. You do not have permission to use my photo. It might end up on your listing.

Dear svepitome,

Are you the obama ebay czar. Don't bid on it if you don't think it's for your car. They are original gm parts from local dealer buyout.

Some interesting developments there Fred but maybe in all fairness I think we need to be this one to bed. It's just an oil cap. If someone out there is willing to shell out that kind of coin for a oil cap then that's their business (even though I think its nuts). Posting a pic of your original oil cap is a good thing and anyone visiting this thread can judge for themselves should they ever be in the market to buy one.

I've noticed several different styles of oil caps on ebay. Most from 50.00 to 10.00. What makes one worth 1000.00?

Cool Re: Oil Cap

The seller states "THERE ARE 2 CAPS IN THE BOX. WINNER WILL HAVE OPTION TO BUY BOTH AND GET THE BOX." Shell out mega $$$ for one and get no box, shell out mega $$$ x 2 and get the box. Must be a very nice box.
