well i noticed the one bidder has 26% of his bids with the owner of the cap seems a tad high unless hes schill bidding on stufff for his bud!!!
but if someone is dumb enough to pay 500 for an oil cap they deserve to be burnt!!
a fool and his money!!
i watched a guy bid up a pcv valve for a 67 vette in the original box to 2000 and he bought it and i had to ask him why when you can buy one at autozone for 3 bucks he said cause it makes his car top flight cond. and increases the value? so i asked if the judges pulled every part off and inspected the numbers he said no that would be silly!!?? uh ok??

Funny. Speaking of PCV valves, mine's original. Works great. The tune-up schedule says to replace it every 12,000 miles. Uh huh. I guess that's if you let sludge build up.

ID:	12769I have all kinds of original stuff off a '68. After reading this thread, I went outside to look in the box for the oil cap. Instead, it was the radiator cap. Opening bid is $250!

Darn it! After using my trusty, secret, super-dooper cleanser (windex), I must now report I don't think this is an original G.M. radiator cap. Therefore the bidding is now at .50 cents... I refuse to be deceptive to my fellow T.C. members. And yes, I take paypal.

They are all on crack. It is only a matter of time until somebody does an exact repop of those I guess.I have seen people pay less for date code correct standard 512 blocks,or correct date 074 heads.Thats just insane.

That's it...I'm going into "Oil Cap" business. I wonder if I give my pitch on the Dragon's Den what would they tell me?

Rick's Fist Generation sells several types of caps. You can even get the one with the "S" stamp. Check out their online catalog. Nothing near the ebay prices.
