Hi, my name is Charlie and my Uncle Frank was the original owner of car. I just wanted to post and say some kind words about Dave, motionvette, the current owner. When Frank called my dad,who had wrenched and also raced the car, and told him he was going to go see the car and meet Dave, my dad told me and we also went.
Dave could not have been any nicer. He showed us all his documentaion and answered all of our questions. As I was taking pics of Frank in the car, I asked Dave if my dad could sit in the car for a pic, he replied,"Hes going to drive it in minute, anybody who wants to can.".
Frank was the first to go and as he pulled out onto the highway in front of the old Gibb dealership, the same as he did so many years ago, he was grinning like the Cheshire Cat.He drove around the Y intersection in front of the dealership and pulled back into the lot still smiling.
Dave asked if anyone else wanted to drive it and Frank's son-in-law was quick to accept. As he drove onto the highway I jokingly shouted," The hauler is waiting for you about two miles down!" Dave quickly responded,"Its insured!"
When Frank's son-in-law returned, Dave again offered to let someone drive the car. I asked my dad if he wanted to and he said "No I already drove it. Years ago." It was then my turn and my dad and my friend got in with me. I drove around the Y intersection and back into the lot. When I got out I approached Dave, shook his hand and thanked him for realizing a lifelong dream to drive a Yenko car, nonetheless the same one my uncle and dad had driven and raced back in the day. Very exciting for a Camaro guy. Thanks again Dave.
Dave could not have been a more gracious host with the car.How many other people would have let complete strangers drive this very valuable piece of history?I took several pics and a couple of short vids of the car and the guys. We had a good time meeting Dave and seeing the car. Dave is a first class guy. Sorry for the long post. BTW, Dave , Im going to look for those videos when I log off.

Thumbs up Re: 1967 Yenko/Harrell/Gibb Camaro Found

Hi Charlie! It was great to meet you as well. I had a great time. It was awesome to meet all of you guys and solidify the history of this car. Always a treat to hook up with the original owner/family of a supercar! A meeting I will never forget for sure. The vintage pics and history clear up a lot of speculation. Glad you enjoyed your first Yenko Camaro drive! I could tell your Dad and Frank really enjoyed seeing their old racecar! Dave
