Hello, this is my first post.I bought my wife a 67 convertible for her birthday that needs a full resto. We bought the car two years ago it is a 67 standard camaro convertible with a 327 and a powerglide. I started working on it this spring before I lost my job of 17 years. Now it will have to wait. I live in Reno Nevada and we bought the car from someone living in the foot hills of northern California. I rebuilt the motor and added a Edlebrock carb .I also stripped the paint off and primered it black. The top is gone but the interior is in good shape except for the carpet. It has ralley wheels from a Nova.
I sand blasted and painted them black and added stainless trim rings. The car has a little surface rust on the dash and it needs a wind shield. The top frame also has rust on it and may need to be replaced .I replaced the sending unit in the gas tank and replaced all the parts in the floor shifter. Well thats all I can think of and untill I can find a job all I can do for now. |

Welcome to Team Camaro Rollin. Is that original interior? Looks pretty good and staight. Check those floor boards and around the rear sill for rust. 'Verts notorious for rust in those locations. Good luck.

Thank you all so much for your kind words.
The car has no rust except very light surface rust due to humidity in the Sacramento area. Yes that is the original interior the seats are in in great shape but the carpet is shot. The car is one of those barn finds and was in storage for quite a while. The top is rotted off and the manual top frame is very rusty. The windshield header moldings have a lot or rust bubbles and need replacing. The dash pad is cracked and the dash is faded and needs painting. The windshield is cracked as well and needs replacing. I did replace the heater core as well. I checked the floor boards and they are sound as well ( thank you for the heads up ). The door panels are decent but have speakers in them. The dash around the glove box has some surface rust as well as the top of the doors above the door panels. The door windows roll up and down but the rear windows must be off the track as they will not roll up.Oh and it needs all the weatherstripping replaced. Well thats all I can think of. |
