Default Magent inside of Pwr Steering Pump Reservoir

I'm replacing a power steering pump and using my old reservoir. I knocked the little 1" round magnet out of place during the process and I don't where in the reservoir it's supposed to go.

Please advise,..thanks!

The little round magnet is usually on the back of the pump on the little flat cast area, not on the can.

I thought that could be the case. There's a 'pad' on the back of the pump that's the same size as the magnet.

Thanks!

Looking at the right side picture, you have the back of the pump facing you. The discharge fitting is at 6 o'clock. At about the 4 o'clock position (inside the pump) just above the stud, is the MAGNET "Z". It is against the pump housing not the reservoir.
